As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

We come together for worship in large gatherings, yet forge meaningful connections in smaller groups. These groups serve as the platform through which we minister to, uplift, and support each other. Whether on campus or in homes, we aim to assist you in joining a group and fostering connections.

Job: A Story of Unlikely Joy (Lisa Harper)

Group: Ladies
Leader: Barb Higgins
Location: Room H-14
Pain is inevitable. It may range in intensity from temporary inconvenience to terminal inevitability, but regardless, you can't avoid it. In the pages of the Old Testament we find Job, a good and godly man, who suffered devastating loss. His plight seemed unfair. His comforters became critics. His questions went unanswered. Yet in the midst of his darkness, light peeked through, hope stayed the course, and unlikely joy emerged. Join Lisa Harper in this 7-session study of the Book of Job to experience healing and deeper connection with the God who cares for you.

1 Corinthians

Group: Men
Leader: Zach Hutchens
Location: H-15
Men's study through the book of 1 Corinthians.

Spiritual Foundation (Matthew 7:24-27)

Group: Anyone
Leader: David Small
Location: Room H-03/04
As a believer, having a strong foundation means having the right foundation. If we base our faith on anything other than the Cross of Jesus Christ, then that foundation is faulty.  “If you get Jesus wrong, it doesn’t matter what you get right, because your foundation is wrong.”
1 Corinthians 3:11 says, "For no one can lay a foundation no other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." We must believe that the Bible is God’s Word; Jesus is the way, the truth and the life - that we are saved by grace through faith.  Anything else we are building our foundation on is sinking sand, not the solid foundation of Christ.  Over the next several weeks we are going to dive into God’s Word on building our spiritual house on the Rock.

When You Pray (Minter, Perry, Wilkin, Rothschild, Edwards, McLelland)

Group: Women
Leader: Robin Speer
Location: Conference Room
Start Date: February 5, 2025
Do you have trouble thinking of words to say to God when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone. Prayer is the way we relate to God, but sometimes it’s a struggle. Throughout God’s Word, we encounter many voices who teach us how to pray.
In this 7-session study, join with six beloved Bible teachers who will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll learn that God welcomes your praise and lament, your thanksgiving and intercession. You’ll see examples of how to pray when you’re alone and when you’re gathered with others. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. As you draw near to God through prayer, you’ll find your faith strengthened and your heart united to Christ.

Life Groups

HEBREWS: The Supremacy of Christ (Dr. David Jeremiah)

BETTER: A Study of Hebrews (Jen Wilkin)

Group: Men
Leader: Van Nowlin
Location: Family Life Center
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Start Date: January 9th
The letter to the Hebrews was written to a group of first-century Christians who were in danger of giving up. While some believers accepted growing persecution with joy, many others were wavering in their faith in Christ. Because the readers of Hebrews had suffered for Christ and were tempted to give up their faith, the author's mission was to put strength in their spines, giving them a passionate but tightly reasoned argument for remaining committed to Christ. If you find yourself struggling in your faith, let the writer of Hebrews strengthen your resolve by articulating the supremacy of Christ!
Group: Women
Leader: Gail Bettenhausen
Location: H-03/04
Time: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Start Date: January 23rd
In this 10-session verse by verse study of Hebrews from Jen Wilkin, learn how Christ is the substance of the shadowy truths the Old Testament records. Discover how He fulfills and completes the work of angels, prophets, priests, and ceremonial laws, establishing a better covenant. Written to those tempted to return to the familiar paths of dead ritual, Hebrews calls us to fix our gaze instead on the resurrected Christ as we run the race set before us. In Him alone we have hope and salvation. He alone is the radiance of the glory of God. In Him alone we have access to God the Father. He alone is better.
