1. What is your background and calling into ministry?
I’m an Arkansas native, who has lived all over the US. My husband, Tom was in the Navy and we lived in Florida, Virginia, Rhode Island, California, Washington and Alaska. I have always been involved in the Children’s Ministry as far back as High School. I taught Children’s Church every Sunday while I was in High School. As we moved from place to place, I would seek out the Children’s area and get involved. God has truly blessed me with churches that gave me an opportunity to serve Him while ministering to children.
2. What is your favorite scripture?
My favorite scripture-I have a couple of them…well actually I have several, but I’ll give you my 2 most favorite ones- Amos 5:4 says “Thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek me, and live.” My other favorite scripture is in Proverbs 12:18 and it says “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
3. What is your favorite movie or movies?
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is my all-time favorite movie. White Christmas is my other favorite.

I like to read Joel Rosenburg and Vince Flynn novels.I’m currently reading a book by C.S. Lewis called “Mere Christianity”…rereading would probably be more accurate.

I have an eclectic music library. I like soundtracks from movies and instrumentals. I especially like string-instrument music.
6. What are some of your hobbies?

7. What has been your most memorable moment at East Side?
I can’t say that I have just one memorable moment…however there is one that stands out. I had a 2nd grader come up to me and tell me that he would like to have Jesus in his heart. We kneeled right where we were and he asked Jesus to be his Savior. It doesn’t get any better than that!
8. Give us a snapshot into your family. Kids. Grandkids. Pets.
We have 2 kids, Allyson and Joe. Allyson recently married her beau, Greg. They live in Seattle, Washington with their dog, Teep. They are involved in martial arts and work together in the evenings at a local karate school.
Joe is a junior in college at East Texas Baptist University. He plays viola at a local church on Sundays. Joe has enjoyed his past two summers working for CentriKid. This year he is looking toward an internship that will have an emphasis on his major-Chemistry. We have a cat named Lily. Lily is really Allyson’s cat. Ha! How many of us actually have our children’s animals? Lily is 11 years old and has adjusted to Arkansas quite well. She is an indoor cat with lots of personality! My mom, Helen, lives with us. She came to live with us in August of 2012. She has added a lot of “greenery” to our yard. She loves flowers and gardening. Fresh vegetables from her garden have been fantastic! Tom, my husband, keeps busy with many projects around the house. He is retired from the Navy with 26 years of service to our country.
